Brass & Copper Pendant
“Celtic Knot” Hammered
This is a handmade Celtic Knot Brass & Copper Pendant. It amazes me with each new design that I do what can be created from a simple piece of wire and some basic tools.
The artist breathes life into a boring wire. it starts it’s incredible journey from wire to become this Brass & Copper Pendant. This is definitely a keepsake to be handed down.
The story starts with the artist but continues on its own unique journey with you the customer. Will you keep it, give it as a gift, or pass it on later. The story keeps building with you. It is a very cool feeling to be part of that. Each piece is unique to itself the 1st time and the fifth time you make it. That is because there is no machine making it and no matter how hard I try its impossible to create 2 exactly alike. That is the beauty of handmade.
This Brass & Copper Pendant starts with the outer frame of 6″ of wire. Wrapped into a circle. At this point its looks nice but then I hammer it flat then use a different hammer to leave its signature hammer design. What is hard about this is to do all that work and have it keep its circle shake. hammer too much on one place and metal movement will be different. The inner frame is where the struggle comes even with good notes on how to accomplish it. One time 7 1/2″ of wire works great another time its too big. When you start mixing metals it is even more difficult to predict. You curl the wire from opposite ends going in opposite direction. Form the bend check to see if it is small enough to fit inside. Hammer it flat and once again texture it. Check to see if its fit. This is check 2 or 3 times before it fills the frame right. Once it fits then you bind it to the frame.
Why buy from me?
Finishing this Copper & Brass Pendant is just as important as creating he piece. This is where some artist get in a hurry. They have spent all their time creating and now they want to start on the next project. I have learn this it what sets my work apart from others there is no shortcuts. I do not get in a hurry at the end. I want to make sure the buyer has a smooth snag free keepsake jewelry. I use a buffing machine and I go through a 6 step of using different finishing brushes. Once I am satisfied with the finish I then let it tumble for 12 hours to help work hard and burnish the shine further.
Quality and your Satisfaction is my goal!
I want you to receive compliments every time you wear this Brass & Copper Pendant
The brightness of my copper may not come across as clear in the photos as they are in your hand. I have spent much time perfecting my own technique for the finishing. I then seal it with a special lacquer coating twice used for outdoor sculpture work. If at any time the lacquer fails just simply contact me and send it back I will recoat for free.
Comes with a rubber cord.
