This is a handmade hammered finish Two Tone “Sonia” Copper & Silver Pendant. It amazes me with each new design that I do what can be created from a simple piece of wire and some basic tools. The artist breathes life into a boring wire. It starts it’s incredible journey from wire to become this Copper & Silver Pendant. This is a keepsake to be handed down. The story starts with the artist but continues on its own unique journey with you the customer. It is a very cool feeling to be part of that. Each piece is unique to itself the 1st time and the fifth time you make it. That is because there is no machine making it and no matter how hard I try its impossible to create 2 exactly alike. That is the beauty of handmade.
It starts with 9″ of 14 gage copper wire. I curl one end of the wire then it is formed around a 1″ mandrel. I push the wire around the mandrel I have to force the wire to curl inside the 1″ and keep the curl close to the outer wire. I flip it over and use a planishing hammer to flatten the wire on an anvil. Keeping the wire where it maintains the round design. Tweak here and there. I then take a small 4″ wire of Copper wire and bind the pendant design, this helps secure the pendant shape. It is now ready for the sterling silver accent. I use a 5″ sterling wire curl one end and coil a loose curl and do the same at the other end in the opposite direction.Hammer the texture and then bind the silver to the frame. Ready for the finishing process.
Why buy from me?
Quality and your Satisfaction is my goal!
Finishing this Handmade Jewelry Pendant is just as important as creating it. This is where some artist may tend to get in a hurry. They have spent too much time creating this project and now they want to start on the next project. This it what sets my work apart from others there is no shortcuts. I just do not get in a hurry at the end. I want to make sure the buyer has a smooth snag free keepsake jewelry. I use a buffing machine and I go through a 6 step of using different finishing brushes. Once I am satisfied with the finish I then let it tumble for 12 hours to help work hard and to burnish the shine further.
Protecting this 2 Tone Handmade Jewelry Pendant from tarnishing is very important. Left unsealed it can patina in a very short period of time and lose it’s beauty. I have spent much time perfecting my own technique for the sealing. I use a special lacquer coating designed for outdoor sculpture work. I repeat the Lacquering twice. Once Lacquered all you have to do is simply use a soft cloth to clean.
The uniqueness of this you will receive compliments every time you wear this Copper & Silver Pendant.
Comes with a rubber cord.
